Ichnôs — The Survivals of the Moment

Curated by Violette Wood, this exhibition brings together five photographic artists whose practices explore the zones of uncertainty within the image.

Between reality and fiction, presence and disappearance, their works investigate margins, thresholds, and fragile traces. Bodies, territories, and narratives appear shaped by contemporary tensions, while the image unfolds as an unstable and fragmented medium.

Through distinct artistic languages, each artist offers a viewing experience that invites slowing down and shifting one’s perception of what is seen. What remains is never quite what was, but what persists: an imprint, a discreet trace, a survival.

In Arles, Artenae reaffirms its commitment to the contemporary French art scene by inviting, alongside its artists, students from art schools in the Bouches-du-Rhône region to present their work within the exhibition.

Featuring Clément Brelet, Julie Coulon, Hugo Henry, Romain Lalire, Laura Martin Person, Nazanin Pirmohammadi.
