Recipient of the Prix Photo Dahinden pour la photographie environnementale, Masoumeh Bahrami documents the gradual disappearance of the Miankaleh wetland, a UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve on the southern shores of the Caspian Sea in Iran.
Weakened by droughts, river diversion, agricultural overexploitation, and years of environmental mismanagement, the region is slowly losing its vital ecological balance.
